System Requirements

For any games to run, you actually need a descent PC. For this game you need a good RAM and a Graphics Card.

  • Ram : Preferably 4GB or 8GB
  • Graphics Card – NVidia GTX ot GTS series.

These are the Min Requirements for your game.

Also you could try Can Your Run It to actually specify that you can run the game.

Here’s how: click the link above. This box will appear

From the drop down  box select Sims 3 or any Sims 3 expansion. Click Can you run it. Be patient as it analyse.

It’s a small online tool to try out. It uses Java. Get Java here. After the report comes out, If the overall result is red, you need a good PC. If green then you can run the game fine. Some times the overall result can be green but some elements like RAM might be red.

Example:

  • Now compare your results with the minimum requirements.

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but may run comparatively slower. Standalone cards that are installed in vanilla PCI slots (not PCIe or PCIx or AGP), such as some GeForce FX variants, will perform poorly.
Integrated chipsets such as the ATI Xpress and the NVIDIA TurboCache variants may default to settings that are higher than what would be optimal for them. Graphics settings can be lowered to improve performance.
The NVIDIA GeForce FX series is unsupported under Vista.
MAC OS X Supported Video Cards
NVIDIA GeForce series
      7300, 7600
      8600, 8800
      9400M, 9600M GT
    GT 120, GT 130
ATI Radeon™ series

Oh and for Hell’s sake, Windows 7 can run it! Sims 8 can run it but it’s kinda glitchy and has a lot of bugs. See the official sims 3 forum for more on this topic.
